We are a specialist letting agency established for over 19 years servicing the international academic community and its families, who need a temporary home in London. Mainly for the academic year September to the following June/July, and occasional shorter lets. Unlike many of our imitators, we maintain a high quality list of properties which have been personally inspected and carefully selected for comfortable and convenient living. They are often the homes of academics, writers and broadcasters, who themselves are on assignment out of the UK.

Sabbatical Homes UK has been established for over 19 years. During that time we have found suitable properties for visiting professors from the USA, mainland Europe, Australia and Japan. As a result we have a bulging portfolio of satisfied tenants and landlords and are happy to provide references from both, and put you in direct contact with your chosen landlord and/ or the existing tenant to discuss the property and our service, if you wish. We aim to provide a personal efficient service tailored to your specific needs, and to match your need to the right type of property in the right location, based on our knowledge and contacts within the London area.

Many academics make arrangements sight unseen, so it is vital that that we give you an accurate description of the property and can usually provide photos to back up the words. Alternatively you may know someone in London who can view the property for you. Leaving arrangements until you arrive can be risky and lead to disappointment so it is important to book ahead. The properties we represent are NOT commercial lets or serviced apartments, though we can arrange this if you require. In general, open market rents are considerably higher than our prices.

New for Fall 2011

It is our intention to set up via a team of local agents, virtual satellite offices in other major university cities across the UK. This will allow home owners outside London wishing to offer their properties to our extensive network of academics from around the world.

For those academics wishing to work or study outside London, they will be able to benefit from the same great service their London based colleagues have enjoyed over the past 19 years.
